District Exams and Evaluations

 APRENDA

My class will take a test called Aprenda in January. Students will be tested in the areas of math, reading, language arts, listening, social studies and science.
**Mi clase tomara el examen de Aprenda en enero. El examen tocara temas en lectura matematicas, artes de lenguaje, comprension auditiva, estudios sociales y ciencias.

minimum passing score: k.4 If a students scores below k.4 and they have passing grades in their report card, they will be required to attend summer school. If a student fails to attend he/she may be retained.

*on grade level score:  1.4

**calificacion minima: k.4 Si algun estudiante saca menos de k.4 tendra que asistir a escuela de verano; si por alguna razon no va a la escuela de verano corre el riesgo de ser reprobado.

 nivel de primer grado: 1.4

 STANFORD

In May my class will take the Stanford 10 exam--the test is similar to Aprenda but it is in English. Stanford 10 is the same exam that the General English students take in January. The purpose of the test is to evaluate the Dual Language student's ability in English in the areas of Reading and Language Arts. **The exam is adminstered for evaluation purposes only; it will not determine whether a student passes or fails. 

**En mayo mi clase tomara el examen de Stanford 10; este examen es parecido al examen de Aprenda pero es en ingles. El proposito de este examen es para evaluar la habilidad del alumno de Dual Language en lectura y artes de lenguaje en ingles. **El examen es solamente una evaluacion, no determinara si un estudiante va a reprobar o pasar grado.

Tejas Lee: This evaluations is administered three times a year, in September, January and April and it measures students' fluency. By the end of first grade students should be able to read 60 words per minute from story 5. **La evaluacion de Tejas Lee es para determinar la fluidez de cada alumno. Al final de primer grado los estudiantes de primer grado deben poder leer 60 palabras por minuto del cuento 5.

High Frequency Word Evaluation

In April all first grade students will take the High Frequency Word Exam in which students will be required to read 35 words; the minimum passing requirement is 28 words. The list of words on the test will be chosen from among 75 words that students will take home to practice. **If a student reads less than 28 words and has passing grades in the report card, he/she will be required to attend summer school. None compliance may result in retention.

**Palabras de Uso Frecuente:
En abril primer grado tomara el examen de Palabras de Uso Frecuente en el cual los estudiantes tendran que leer 35 palabras; de esas 35 tendran que poder leer por lo menos 28. Las 35 palabras son seleccionadas por el distrito de entre 75 palabras que los alumnos llevaran a casa para estudiarlas. **Si algun estudiante lee menos de 28 palabras (y tiene buenas calificaciones) tendra que asistir a escuela de verano. Si por alguna razon los padres deciden no mandar a su hijo(a), el/ella corre el riesgo de ser reprobado(a).

FIRST GRADE HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS

Below are the first grade Hgh Frequency Words in Spanish. Their test is usually in April.

SECOND GRADE HFW READING LIST

I have included the second grade HFW in Spanish so that my students can practice them once they master the first grade list.  I have also included the English HFW List, although students will not be tested in English I would like for them to practice their words in English as well. **Adjunta tambien encontrara la lista de Palabras de Uso Frecuente de segundo grado en espanol eh ingles para que mis alumnos las practiquen despues de que se aprendan la lista de primer grado. Los estudiantes solamente tomaran su examen en espanol pero aun pueden practicar las palabras en ingles.
